a teenager’s song
Who loves to talk
to a youth like me?
Who cares enough
to hear my story?
Who stands a
long-term intimacy with me?
Saving me from
self-pity, building my self-identity.
There are million
souls like me
Lost in the crowd,
dying in prosperity
Busy and lonely,
lots of fun yet empty
Who’s entering our
culture, friendly and prayerfully?
When God’s so
distant and no one understand,
those moments of
vulnerability, who’s my company?
Often I’m loosing
focus and lacking purpose,
Who shows me the
goal, remind me of the right priority?
Will
you be the one for me?
Not
an expert but a buddy
Not a
hero but a fellow
A brother or sister, sharing
life with me
A living model for my journey
to maturity,
An incarnate God to me.
Then surely I’ll be happy!
In the world full
of hostility, I am desperate and angry
Need no more
adults who neither neglect or exploit my potentiality
Long no more
program but the right person in youth ministry
A friendly
teacher, a true friend close to me.
Will you be the one for me?
Programs may
reflect your creativity,
Style may reflect
your personality,
But your life must
reflect His plan and His love for me
The only approach
that will work best in youth community
Will you be the one for me?
